Streak Snapped, Perez Struggles

Oliver Perez's struggles continued Friday night, as he was responsible for all 8 Diamondback runs in the Pirate's 8-4 loss. Four of Arizona's runs were off home runs, a 3 run shot by Troy Glaus in the 3rd and a solo shot by Shawn Green in the 3rd.

There was some good news for the Pirates as Ward went 3 for 4 with one run and Lawton hit a solo home run in the 9th, so while not enough to win the Pirates did manage to scrape together some offence. The Pirates will try to make it 2-1 tonight when they play the 3rd of 4 games at 9:40.
