Bats Silent
Another outstanding outing by Pirates pitcher Mark Redman was for naught as the Pirates managed but one run on 6 hits against Brett Tomko in a 2-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants last night. Redman had the 1st complete game of the season for the Pirates giving up just 6 hits and only 2 walks but the Pirates were not able to get him the win.
This game closely mirrored the last game he pitched against the Giants last week in Pittsburgh where a lack of run production doomed an otherwise good performance to earning him an L and not the W. The Pirates hope to even things up in the city by the bay tonight when they take on the Giants for game 2 of 3 at 10:10PM.
