The Pirates got their 10th win of the season and Jose Mesa got his 10th save tonight as the Pirates beat the Astros 6-4 winning 2 in a row in Houston. The Pirates were efficient tonight getting their 6 runs with just 9 hits. The Pirates scored 3 runs in the 9th inning all off home runs with Ward hitting a one run HR and Bay a 2 run HR.
Other notable Pirates tonight were Robb Mackowiak who was 3 for 4 and Torres who pitched 2 scoreless innings and got the win. Houston closer Lidge both blew his first save of the year and also was credited with the loss.
The Pirates next travel to Arizona for a 4 game set against the Diamondbacks, starting tomorrow night at 9:40
